Get Lit is back!
Get Lit is back on Tuesdays throughout October!
We'll be providing lights to cyclists without them, and educating them on the importance of seeing and being seen at night. We're also giving out bike maps and Toronto Cyclists Handbooks to support people to get around the city safely and with confidence.
Where and when?
We'll set up our orange tent in different locations across the city, with locations announced the day of.
Follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to find out where you can find us!
We'll be out every Tuesday evening in October from 6:00-9:00PM (or until we run out of lights).
Why is this important?
As summer turns to fall, shorter daylight hours mean it's more important than ever for people biking to have proper lights and reflective gear on their bicycles.
Without a light, you become invisible at night. Lights and reflectors make you visible. Ontario law requires that bicycles be equipped with a front white light and either a rear red reflector or a rear red light, from half an hour before sunset to half an hour after sunrise. Lights, reflectors, reflective tape, and bright clothing help people driving and walking see cyclists at night, creating a safer environment for all road users.
