Let's Make the Bike Boom Permanent

When the pandemic shut down Toronto the first time, Cycle Toronto was forced to rethink how we provide cycling education. We couldn’t meet in person, so we went online. We transformed our workshops and started producing more online cycling resources than ever before. Then the Bike Boom happened. Last year, 29% of people riding the ActiveTO road openings were new or renewed bike riders and our educational materials for new riders were read by tens of thousands.

Giving Tuesday, Street Smarts & The Bike to School Project

Giving Tuesday

It’s Giving Tuesday, and the launch of our annual Street Smarts drive where we raise funds for high-quality cycling education programs, such as The Bike to School Project. This year our goal is to raise $25,000 to maintain and expand into new programs including a Family Riding Workshop and Guided Confidence-Building Rides. Reaching our goal ensures we’ll be able to provide excellent education in schools, libraries and on streets across Toronto.

Get Lit is back!

Get Lit is back on Tuesdays throughout October!

We'll be providing lights to cyclists without them, and educating them on the importance of seeing and being seen at night. We're also giving out bike maps and Toronto Cyclists Handbooks to support people to get around the city safely and with confidence.

Where and when?

We'll set up our orange tent in different locations across the city, with locations announced the day of.
