Bloor Loves Bikes

Message from Executive Director Keagan Gartz

Following one year of parental leave, our Executive Director, Keagan Gartz, has just returned to the virtual office. After taking many family bike rides and coming together with her neighbourhood for physically distant concerts to get her through the year, she’s seeing our streets and our city in a whole new way.

Now that she’s back at Cycle Toronto, Keagan shared what she’s been reflecting on most from 2020:

Cycle Toronto submission on the Bloor St W extension

Cycle Toronto recently submitted feedback on the draft design of the Bloor West Bikeway Extension. We’re thrilled to see the highly successful and heavily-used bike lanes between Avenue Rd and Shaw St extended to Runnymede Rd and we’re strongly supportive of the planned extension.

This extension will grow transportation choices outside of the downtown core, connect neighbourhoods, and enable residents, businesses, and visitors to experience all the benefits that the current Bloor St bike lanes already provide.

Bloor West Bikeway Extension Drop-In

The Bloor West Bikeway Extension drop-in opened at 4PM on January 27th and people immediately began filing in. After registering, they entered a room with 39 different info panels, maps for feedback, and City Staff to answer questions. You can view the info panels here if you want a second look or can’t make it out to either meeting.
