Are you joining in for #BikeFridays?
On March 16th, once vibrant stretches of business on Yonge Street shuttered as the pandemic became fully realized on Toronto’s streets. In the following months recovery began but how we interact with our community has changed; that’s why we’re launching a new effort to highlight the fantastic independent and small businesses on Yonge St in the Midtown neighbourhood: #BikesLoveYonge.
Cycle Toronto, Cycle Toronto Midtown, and Cycle Don Valley Midtown have partnered to bring you #BikesLoveYonge and are working with Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) in the Midtown neighbourhood to do it. #BikesLoveYonge encourages people to bike, shop, and dine along Yonge Street and share their experience on social media, promoting local shops, services and restaurants.
#BikesLoveYonge is supported by four BIAs: Yonge-St.Clair BIA, Midtown Yonge BIA, Uptown Yonge BIA, and Yonge Lawrence Village BIA.
In collaboration with the BIAs, #BikesLoveYonge has launched its first campaign: #BikeFridays, which offers special promotions and contests for people shopping by bike on Fridays.

We’ve seen so many people sharing their stories and their photos about why they love cycling to run errands and why they love supporting local.

Keep the momentum going
We love local businesses and we know you do too! With support from our members and donors, we can partner with BIAs, businesses, and residents to highlight what makes our city great. But we need your support to do it: even $5 a month helps us work through the pandemic toward a safer, healthier and more vibrant cycling city for all.
