Coldest Day of the Year Ride presented by Bike Share Toronto

Cycle Toronto's Coldest Day of the Year Ride presented by Bike Share Toronto is back! Join us on Sunday, February 12th alongside our official presenting partner Bike Share Toronto as we take to the streets and enjoy some winter biking. At Cycle Toronto we believe there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Riding a bike should be an easy, accessible activity for transportation all year round. We hope you’ll join us and help show the city how enjoyable winter riding can be!

A lot has changed since the 2 year hiatus from our last winter group ride, and we’re pleased to announce this year’s ~8km family friendly route will be entirely on protected bikeways along Shuter, Sherbourne, and Bloor/Danforth.

Date: Sunday, February 12
11:30 AM: Gather at Sumach-Shuter Parkette
Noon: Ride leaves headed west on Shuter bikeways.
1 PM: Arrival at East Lynn Park with post ride refreshments at Local 1794 for some good conversation, food, and beverages.

(*Please note there will be no road closures or additional traffic management requested from Toronto Police Services. Experienced cycling educators will be on hand, but all riders are expected to adhere to rules of the road.)

Don’t have a winter bike? No problem! Our partner Bike Share Toronto is offering a limited number of Bike Share bikes at no cost. Simply fill out this form to reserve your bike by Friday, February 9th before 3pm.

This form is now closed.

Bikes will be available for pick up at Sumach-Shuter Parkette and must be dropped off at East Lynn Park. All Bike Share riders must complete a waiver (and e-bike riders must wear a helmet).

And despite the name, the advance forecast is looking chilly but hardly the “coldest”. And we’ve got some tips on our website to get yourself ready for the big day!

Thanks to the support members, donors, and partners like Bike Share Toronto, the Coldest Day of the Year Ride is free to attend! And we are always looking for new members and donors so that we are able to continue doing the work we do. If you like attending events like these and are passionate about unlocking more bike trips across the city, please consider donating or becoming a member today - your support keeps our wheels turning!
