Want to make a difference in your community but don't know where to start? This workshop can help with that.
Community for Climate Action - North Etobicoke is inviting you to attend a FREE online workshop delivered by Cycle Toronto.
Want to make a difference in your community but don't know where to start? This workshop can help with that. Advocacy 101 will:
- Provide an overview of the systems of government, including the differences in roles and responsibilities of elected city councillors and city staff and how they communicate with residents, stakeholders, and community members.
- Walk participants through how bike lanes get built from start to finish, including the design, planning, consultation, engineering, and construction phases, explaining the overall process and showing when residents can get involved.
- Share how to be an effective advocate in your community, including what resources are available and how to reach out to people for more information and how to collaborate and build coalitions.
Our educators are all very experienced and are there to share their wealth of knowledge with you. So, bring all your questions and we’ll help you out!
All participants will be provided with a free digital copy of The Toronto Cycling Handbook.
This workshop is being delivered as part of Cycle Toronto's Move365 program funded in part by donors and Cycle Toronto members.
