Bike Month is an opportunity for people to try riding a bike for the first time, learn new skills, or simply have fun and connect with new people. It’s taking the time to rekindle the youthful magic of exploring your neighbourhood by bike or share that joy with the next generation of bike riders. Bike Month is a celebration of biking.
Bike Month 2020 is going to be a little different than years past, but there are still going to be plenty of opportunities to get outside, be healthy, and ride a bike. For starters, Bike Month 2020 is running in September instead of its usual June appearance.
Evolving out of Toronto’s first Bike to Work Day in 1989, Bike Month is now one of the largest celebrations of biking in Canada with events happening across the entire Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and Guelph. Bike Month brings together families, artists, commuters, and community groups to promote cycling at hundreds of events all month long. You can check out the event calendar here and even add your own events.
Bike Month Toronto is organized by Cycle Toronto in partnership with MEC and supported by The City of Toronto.
Bike Month across the GTHA and Guelph is supported by York Region, Durham Region, The Region of Peel, The City of Toronto, The City of Mississauga, The City of Brampton,The City of Hamilton, The City of Burlington, The City of Oakville, The City of Guelph, and The Town of Milton.
